SPA+CLINIC caught up with Dr Heber to discuss the purpose behind the RVR90 program and what next year holds for Ultraceuticals.
Share with us how you came up with the 90-day Skin Expert Program and why.
Dr Heber: I walked into the cosmetic floor of a large city department store and was confronted by the sea of counters and products before me. I thought to myself, “How would anyone know what to buy that works?” I then thought, “We can prove that Ultraceuticals products work, so why don’t we show it!” Showing people what could be achieved with their skin over 90 days with the guidance of skin professionals and Ultraceuticals products and treatments was a natural progression.
How has the challenge evolved since you started it?
The fundamentals of the program haven’t changed. Clients have an initial consultation, and the therapist talks with them about their skin. Photos are taken, a personalised skincare plan, including homecare and treatments, is created for the next 90 days, and a review is booked for every 30 days. At the review, the therapist and clients again discuss the plan and adjust it if necessary, for example, adding another product or a higher strength product or suggesting a treatment. At the 90 day visit the final review is performed. The therapist and client write down their experiences in the RVR90 booklets we provide. The therapist writes down the homecare and treatments for each month, and the photos taken at each visit are inserted into the booklet. The booklets are submitted to us for judging, which in 2022 is by me, our trainers and a panel of outside judges. We judge the appropriateness of the Expert Skin Plan and its effective application to achieve results that the client loves and which are demonstrated in the photos. We invite all the therapists who have participated to an RVR90 Awards Ceremony where the winners and runners-up are announced.
What kind of skin concerns can an Ultraceuticals regime treat?
In our RVR90 Skin Expert Program we have the categories of skin ageing, pigmentation and acne. However, Ultraceuticals addresses all the common concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, coarseness, large pores and loss of firmness.
Is there a ’standout result’ you remember that you can share?
There have been very many standout results over the last six years of the RVR90 Program. Hardly a year goes by when I am not taken aback by some skin programs and results. Perhaps the stand-out results are those for acne. This condition can be psychologically debilitating, and when it is cleared the clients often write such wonderful things, such as how their lives have been transformed.
How does Ultraceuticals differ from other skincare brands?
The Ultraceuticals range allows therapists to create personalised skin plans for different skin types, from young and sensitive to older and in need of intense attention. Every skin is different. There are mild to higher strength active products and a wide range of customised skin treatments so the therapist can obtain the best possible results for every client. Of course, there are many other things, such as our high standard of customer service and our unique clinically tested formulations developed by our in-house team of PhD scientists.
How can skin clinics be part of this and is there an incentive for them (i.e. marketing exposure or similar)?
If clinics wish to be a part of the RVR90 Program, they need to call their Ultraceuticals Growth & Development Partner, or if they want to be introduced to Ultraceuticals they can contact our Head Office on 1800 355 890.
There are several reasons why a therapist should consider entering our RVR90 Skin Expert Program. The Program allows them to demonstrate their professional skills. With reviews of their clients every 30 days, they can see their client’s progress, revise their personalised plan for each client and see the results they and their clients are achieving with the photos they take every 30 days. Their clients will likely recommend the therapist on, and they can become the “go-to” therapist for better skin. If chosen as a winner or runner-up, they will also be recognised among their peers for their achievements.
What’s next for Ultraceuticals this year?
This year, we will continue growing our business overseas, particularly in the USA and Europe, appointing more high-quality distributors. Of course, we have some great products coming to market, but I don’t want to say too much yet!
