Why ACSG’s Skin Is In Summit Will Be An Industry Conference With A Twist

Advanced Cosmeceuticals Skin Group has announced it’s inaugural ‘Skin Is In Summit‘ event, hosted on the 29th July in Sydney. The realisation of a long-term goal for the business, The Skin Is In Summit has been created with skincare professionals and clinic owners at the heart of the event.

ACSG, who has had long-standing relationships with clinic partners, describe this as an opportunity to collectively be inspired, by some of the Australia’s leading business speakers.

With a line-up of expert speakers, including entrepreneur and Boost Juice Founder, Janine Allis, Chelsea Pottenger, Director of EQ Minds, Abbie White, CEO and Founder of Sales Redefined, alongside clinic found panel discussions and marketing workshops. This event is designed to leave guests invigorated and ready to take their business to the next level.

“I’m immensely proud to be able to host the first ACSG Skin Is In Summit. It is an opportunity for skincare professionals to connect, learn and be inspired. I invite you to join me.”

Shaunte Mears-Watkins, ACSG CEO

We spoke to ACSG’s CEO Shaunte Mears-Watkins about her time with the company, and why skin professionals should attend this event.

Shaunte, you’ve been CEO of ACSG for a year, what has changed since then/what are some milestones or highlights you can share?

If I were to use one word to describe the past year, it would be ‘dynamic.’ Specifically, we’ve changed how we work with clinics to be more responsive to their needs. One of my favourite parts of my role is spending time with clinic owners and managers, listening to what is working well and how we can be better partners in their growth. I invested a lot of time in listening this year.

Much of the feedback was positive but there were clear themes of areas we needed to evolve.  Clinics that partner with ACSG will have seen us become more adaptable, more service oriented, and more resourceful in supporting them through their unique business challenges over the last year.

How have you made sure your clinic partners were well looked after during this time of transition?

I’ve got a fantastic team of Business Development Managers and Educators who are dedicated and passionate about the work that they do. They are core to the experience that a clinic has as an ACSG partner.

When I say we’ve become more service oriented, I’ve had to make sure that the level of care a clinic receives when they deal with any of our departments is seamless and consistent with our company values – Excellence, Integrity, Accountability, Initiative, and Care.

Tell us about the Skin Is In Summit – what made you want to organise an event?

The Skin Is In Summit was born out of a few key insights from this year. First, the economic backdrop for clinics this year has been challenging, so the time is right for new ideas.  I wanted to give attendees the opportunity to be inspired by business leaders from within and outside of the industry.

In spending the day with us, you will absolutely learn about emerging innovation in skincare and practical advice for managing a team, clients and traffic in your clinic. Plus, you’ll also have the opportunity to hear from other business leaders who have been successful across a range of industries.

Who should attend the event and do they have to be ACSG partners?

The event is geared toward skincare clinic and spa owners, managers and therapists. You do not have to be an existing ACSG partner to attend.  If you are curious about what we have to offer, I would love to have you join and get to know us better.

The list of speakers is impressive! Why did you decide to include people from other industries as speakers?

I believe in the power of fresh ideas.  I believe we get inspiration from a number of places, and often you see things differently when you change your perspective. As someone who has worked across a number of different industries, I’ve found that my ability to draw on a diverse set of experiences has always been a benefit.

Our keynote speakers will be sharing the stage alongside individuals with deep skincare industry knowledge, all with the aim of giving you the best of both worlds in one day – an ambitious goal.
