EXPO DIRECTOR JULIA ERBEN’S TOP FIVE TIPS
THERE ARE SO many important things to see at the expo this year, it will be a challenge to fit it all in. But because the show runs Sunday and Monday this year, your team can stay in your spa or salon on Saturday, then dedicate two full days to sourcing and inspiration.
1 To make your planning easy, we’ve introduced the new expo app will allow you to browse the program, pick which shows and seminars you want to attend and automatically add them directly to your calendar. If you’re not into apps, I’d still strongly recommend you plan your visit some weeks ahead and book online to secure seats in the popular sessions. Booking tickets ahead also means you skip the queues. (See map opposite and page 76 for stands and education planning.)
2 On choosing sessions for yourself and your team, think about where you’re all at in your professional lives. Are your customers asking for new types of treatments or products? Do you or your team need new skills? Are you looking for creative inspiration? This year’s program is so diverse you’ll find the answer to any of the above.
3 I recommend attending no more than two in-depth learning sessions a day. Also, don’t just look for those celebrity names in the speaker list – we’ve got some exciting new talent speaking this year to keep your know-how really fresh.
4 If you’re in the market for new products, dedicate Sunday to finding and comparing the offers and make a shortlist, then book time in on Monday with your potential suppliers to guarantee you’ll have time for meaningful discussions.
5 And last but not least, in order to make it easier to attend the sought-after Business Leaders Summit, we’ve scheduled it to take place on Saturday, 24 August. I strongly recommend it for owners and operators who want to take their businesses to the next level.
