Roundup Of Resources For COVID-19 Affected Businesses

With tightened lockdown restrictions in Victoria, there are several government resources available for spas and clinics in need of financial aid.

Stage 4 restrictions are now in place in metropolitan Melbourne to slow the spread of COVID-19, and Stage 3 restrictions now enforced for the Mitchell Shire and regional Victoria. Melbourne CBD spas and clinics will remain closed until 13 September or when the government advises it’s safe to reopen. For many businesses, this is the second time they have shut their doors this year.

Here is a roundup of some of the current financial resources available to spas and clinics.

Business Support Fund

If you are a metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire business forced to close due to the lockdown, you can apply for a one-off $10,000 grant. This is on top of any JobKeeper payments or additional money you have received from the government. Businesses in regional Victoria can apply for a $5,000 grant.

Businesses which have already received a Business Support Fund – Expansion grant, or have applied for one, will not need to re-apply. Successful applicants will automatically receive this additional allocation. Applications for the program will be extended until 14 September 2020. You can apply for the grant here.

You can also register your interest for the $20 million CBD Business Support Fund to help small businesses in Melbourne’s CBD faced with a significant and sustained shock to their trading environments. You can register your interest here.

Small Business Recovery Grant

There is just over a week for NSW spas and clinics to apply for the $3,000 business recovery grant to help small businesses reopen safely. You can apply for the grant here.
