With $40,000 in prizes, Thryv’s inaugural Small Business Grant is a game-changer for Australian small business owners.
Small businesses make up 28 per cent of Australia’s business community and have been one of the hardest-hit sectors over the past few years. And in order to keep their businesses afloat, owners are working outside normal business hours to complete essential administrative tasks.
A survey of 1,000 small business owners, conducted by Thryv, found that many averaged an extra 7.5 hours of work outside their regular trading hours each week. That’s a whole day of extra work outside of trading hours just to meet administration demands. On top of this, 67 per cent of those surveyed agreed that business administration takes too long and would be open to a one-stop solution for software tools. Nearly 27 per cent also said they are not digitally savvy, yet 69.9 per cent agreed that they need to be digitally savvy for their business to be successful.
To help assist small business owners save time and money, Thryv has announced their inaugural Thryv Small Business Grant, which will allow three small businesses the opportunity to grow with the support of the company’s digital platform. The software company offers an easy-to-use small business management platform that helps business owners with the daily demands of running a business, from building a customer list to invoicing, processing payments and managing ratings and reviews. Thryv currently delivers services to more than 45,000 small business clients across the US and Australia.
“Most small business owners started their business from sheer passion for their craft, not because they wanted to manage invoices, bookings or even a social media presence,” says Elise Balsillie, Head of Thryv Australia. “Our goal is to help alleviate the pressures of business administration by digitising the tasks that are keeping small business owners up at night, which is why we’ve launched Thryv’s inaugural Small Business Grant.”
Small businesses across Australia are encouraged to enter the grant for a chance to grow their business and focus on their craft — and your spa or clinic could be one of them. The grant program will support small businesses on their digital transformation journey through the Thryv SaaS platform and invaluable mentorship for business growth.
The main prize is valued at $20,000 and includes a $15,000 cash incentive, 12-month subscription to Thryv software (including onboarding and website) and a workshop with Tradies in Business or The Small Business Community. The two runner-up prizes are valued at $10,000 each and include $5,000 in cash and a 12-month subscription to Thryv software.
To be in the running for the prize, all you need to do is submit a 25 words or less response to show how the grant could support your business growth ambitions. Entries for the Thryv Small Business Grant opened on Monday, 4 April 2022 and close on Monday, 16 May 2022.
