Grown Alchemist Launches Spa Along With Retail Lab

Biological beauty brand Grown Alchemist is about to launch its first flagship Retail Lab.

Grown Alchemist will offer spa treatments at its new flagship Retail Lab set to open on Wednesday. The renovated Victorian cottage located in Carlton, Melbourne includes a retail space and two treatment rooms. The treatment menu consists of traditional signature facials, light therapy and IV-drip therapy. Grown Alchemist co-founder Jeremy Mujis believes we are entering a new era in beauty where topical treatments are combined with new holistic therapies.

“We see our retail spa space almost like a gym for the skin where you go on a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly basis for treatments, advice and take-home products to maintain perfect skin health and function,” Mujis said.

Grown Alchemist’s in-house design team worked with Herbert & Mason Architecture to create a luxurious and refreshing space. Together they restored the cottage attached to the heritage-listed King & Godfree building to its former glory with some modern twists. Mujis says the space is a nice play between the old and the new. The retail store or ‘Cleanroom’ offers an industrial feel with exposed brick, natural light and steel beams, while the treatment rooms are described as a sanctuary to calm the senses.

“Using the raw industrial laboratory aesthetic, the store is built around a uniquely engineered structure, the Cleanroom. The space is filled with ultra-purified air to improve skin function whilst you shop. Almost like a bio-lab environment for the skin,” he said.

The Retail Lab will feature the range of Grown Alchemist products which range from hand lotions through to advanced serums. Its products are naturally efficacious and chemical-free.

“Everything we do is driven by our simple truth. Beautiful skin comes to function, and function is driven by health. Our retail space is no different,” Mujis said.
