Italy’s Newest Wellness Destination Has It All

The Terme Preistoriche di Montegrotto Hotel, in Padua, North Italy, has just announced the opening of its incredible new architecturally-built wellness centre – Neró Spa.

The all-encompassing wellness centre integrates spa treatments, aesthetic treatments, Ayurvedic medicine and fitness, in state of the art facilities designed by Studio Apostoli, an internationally acclaimed design company in the spa and wellness industry.

The spa facilities are located on the hotel’s “Noble” floor, overlooking the hotel’s enchanting, centuries-old inner park, where guests can admire the vapors rising from the panoramic thermal pools – this is in addition to the two new outdoor thermal pools and the two indoor covered pools equipped with 56 whirlpools and 6 cervical waterfalls.

Inside, the spa facilities are stunningly lit with LED features, featuring lots of glass, timber, and polished stone surfaces. Some of the amenities include:

Finnish Sauna – completely glazed and furnished with benches made of cedar wood to provide the room with a delicate fragrance.

Hammam – completely made in Guatemala Green marble.

Salt Cabin – cylindrical  in shape, featuring floor, walls, ceiling and seats completely covered in salt, with backlit pink salt tile walls.

Shower Paths – with Cold Mist, Tropical Rain, Finnish Bucket and Ice Waterfall.

Kneipp path – contoured by a LED lighting system, and composed of 3 circular elements containing cold and warm water.

Saline pool – allowing guests to enjoy float therapy thanks to its high saline content.

Kotatsu – a tradition, composed of a circular bench and a central table from which it is possible to enjoy herbal teas and infusions while keeping the legs in the low central basin.

Inside the spa’s wellness room, there are also 5 massage rooms, 2 face treatment stations, 2 hand stations and 3 Ayurveda cabins, along with Private Spa suite for couple rituals.

“It has been a great opportunity to express new Wellness concepts, says concept designer Alberto Apostoli. For over 20 years I am trying to move towards more spiritual ambiences, while linking this world to the concreteness of materials and the millenary tradition of the territory. We found an extraordinary understanding with the client and the result has been exceptional for coherence with the original idea, the harmonisation of the territory and, on a greater scale, of the location”.

The official inauguration event will take place from the 24th – 27th of October 2019, with the four-day celebrations playing host to meetings, readings and music dedicated to all things health and wellbeing.
