Australian pet range Rufus & Coco launched their first ever premium pet salon last week in Sydney, and ‘The Fur Salon by Rufus & Coco’ in Mosman hopes to continue the brand’s mission to help pets look fabulous and feel even better.
Serving puppicinos or kitticinos with every treatment (depending on the client, of course!) The Fur Salon has premium and personalised services for passionate ‘Pawrents’ to treat their fur-babies to, including detailed consults with expert ‘furologists’ (groomers). There is a grooming menu which includes Shampoodles (wash) through to The Vanity Fur (wash, blow dry, ear clean, pawdicure and style cut), as well as indulgent spa treatments like blueberry facials and wellbeing massages with a qualified pet masseuses. All treatments feature the brand’s extensive range of shampoos, mists, ear care, breath freshener, brushes and more.
Australia’s pet grooming industry is currently experiencing substantial growth, increasing by a huge 33% between 2013-2016. $600+ million was spent on pet grooming last year alone, with owners embracing pampering and wellness for their pets.
“I launched Rufus & Coco in 2008 to offer pet parents a different kind of pet brand – one that offered a premium, trusted and affordable range of pet products that are more fashionable and more natural. We successfully filled that gap in the market for products and can’t wait to offer our ‘Well Bred Petcare’ in services,” shares Anneke van den Broek, founder and CEO of Rufus & Coco.
In order to attract pet parents seeking premium products and services, the salon’s sophisticated and sleek design has been clearly influenced by the modern beauty salon. Groomers also reflect the same aesthetics clinic quality, taking the time to sit and consult with clients to curate their experience.
CEO of Rufus & Coco, Anneke van den Broek, said “we actually settled on the groomers before we even built the salon, as we wanted the very best people. Finding great cat groomers was a challenge as cat grooming is still fairly new.”

Rufus & Coco’s entire range will be available in store, including grooming, toys and accessories – some of which donate portions of proceeds to the Australian Pet Welfare Foundation.
