The exquisite underground pool at The Langham Day Spa, Sydney
The spectacular $30 million transformation of The Langham, Sydney will be revealed when it reopens next week, December 2, after a five-month overhaul.
‘No expense has been spared in creating this elegant harbourside retreat for our guests’ says The Langham, Sydney general manager Sonia Lefevre.
The newly sun-drenched guest reception area
The landmark hotel is situated in Kent St, City, and commands extraordinary harbour views. Indeed, one of the biggest developments is the newly exposed harbour views from all aspects of the hotels’ public spaces, including guest check-in, drenching the once-dark space in light.
Every corner of the hotel has been given the grand treatment. Each light switch, fitting, fixture, chandelier, every piece of marble was replaced with a superior product.
‘World class design firm, GA Design, worked direct from London with luxury building experts ICMG and The Langham Executive Team, to ensure every construction accent is perfect.

‘GA’s vision, in conjunction with The Langham brand power, is a new addition to the Sydney luxury sector that will transcend the market.’
Hand curated art by Sotheby’s, Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood, an immersive fine dining concept at Sydney’s newest offering, Kent Street Kitchen, an exclusive new day spa, five new lavish event spaces plus Sydney’s largest lead-in guestrooms with Langham’s signature terraces and balconies are just a taste of the exquisite touches.
The Palm Court Bar
The addition of six ornate bespoke designed fireplaces across the hotel highlights the level of detail injected into the project.
But one of the most exciting features is the revamped day spa, a lavish underground sanctuary with a focus on providing the ultimate spa journey for all guests. Healing holistic therapies that treat the mind as well as the body are performed by highly qualified therapists using The Day Spa’s signature products.
Expect stunning new treatment rooms, a brand new spa environment, innovative new treatments, the same highly educated staff, even more access to exclusive German BABOR products and a no-rush policy, which means you can robe up, swim in the pool and take your time before and after treatments.
The Day Spa at The Langham, Sydney will continue to be a pioneer in many ways, expanding on its already specialised menu, adding more specialised staff and the introduction of Aromatherapy Associates to the treatment menu.

Each treatment is finalised with a new signature detox juice, contemplation time by the pool and the offering of a healthy lunch or snack inside our spa should guests desire.
The 20 metre indoor heated pool is a tranquil haven, complete with pale stone columns and a star-dappled sky ceiling which is a perfect representation of the Southern Hemisphere, by night.
Packages are on offer for busy corporates, ladies days, couples and bride and groom preparation.
‘The Langham, Sydney arrives into the marketplace at an exciting time with the development of Barangaroo on the hotel’s doorstep. Guests will be treated to beautiful views over water and parkland, and only a short stroll from all the CBD action,’ says Sonia Lefevre.
‘The hotel hasn’t just undergone a refurbishment. This is a grand transformation.’
