The highly anticipated Wellness Tourism Summit will now take place in March 2021.
Although unsurprising, we are sad to hear of yet another industry event forced to be postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19. The Wellness Tourism Summit, organised and founded by Katherine Droga, which was originally scheduled to take place in March of this year and then postponed to September, has now been pushed once more to March 2021.
“The Wellness Tourism Summit team have been tirelessly reviewing all options for how to deliver the Summit on September 3 & 4. Unfortunately current COVID-19 social distancing guidelines and the situation in Victoria means that we cannot deliver our amazing event just yet,” reads the official statement.
Droga had been in touch with all delegates to hear if they felt it safe to attend the event in September, but the recent lockdown in Victoria would have made it impossible for many speakers and guests to attend. However, to ease the disappointment, Droga announced three initiatives to help keep everyone connected and involved until next year.
- The Summit will now include new scheduled business appointments for delegates including attending media. This will ensure the Summit not only delivers valuable insights and networking but immediate business opportunities. While this is a paid opportunity for new delegates – existing Summit members can join these business appointments for freeas a thank you for supporting WTS during this topsy turvy time.
- The Wellness Tourism COVID Kickstarter Virtual Meet Up will be launched this September. The online event is complimentary for all existing Summit delegates. Join live or watch at a time that suits. Featuring leaders in Wellness Travel, the virtual meet up will share how businesses have evolved post COVID and what’s working right now or what’s not. They will also share insights from the GWI Post Covid Wellness Travel survey. While this virtual event is ticketed, all Wellness Tourism Summit March delegates will receive access for free.
- Get involved in World Wellness Weekend (WWW). WWW is a free global event on September 20-21, 2020 aimed to inspire and empower people to make healthier choices and enjoy an active lifestyle. The event encourages businesses or destinations around the world to organise free, fun, and creative wellness activities on that weekend. Katherine Droga is proud to be the Ambassador of World Wellness Weekend in Australia for 2020. Alongside a free group activity, any participating wellness operator can provide a special paid offer also. Promotion will be via the World Wellness Weekend website as well as via the Wellness Tourism Summit channels and consumer database.
We cannot wait for March to come to connect, learn, and be inspired by the who-is-who of the wellness industry.
