In March 2015, Carla Oates, founder of Australia’s inner beauty range The Beauty Chef, and her marketing manager Leonie Faddy took their first giant leap onto the world stage by exhibiting at Cosmoprof Bologna, the leading B2B global event for the professional beauty sector and an international platform for the cosmetics and wellness industry.
The exhibit was mobbed, they told us later, because no one had seen anything like Beauty Chef’s bio-fermented inner beauty powders and tonics.
Word spread like wildfire and a few weeks later they were approached by one of the world’s biggest, most famous and prestigious departments stores in the world, Selfridges, on Oxford St, London.
“Cosmoprof Bologna certainly opened a lot of important doors,” says Leonie. “It’s such an incredible compliment for an icon like Selfridges to come to us.
“We had six months of discussions and launched The Beauty Chef there in February last year, as well as Selfridges online.”
It just demonstrates the power of Cosmoprof Bologna – celebrating its 50th anniversary from Friday, March 17 to Monday, March 20 at BolognaFiere S.p.A., Italy – as an invaluable showcase for brands and a wealth of information, trends, new products and networking opportunities for aesthetics industry professionals.
To mark the event’s half century, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna and the International Spa Association (ISPA) announced a new collaboration, focusing on leveraging the assets of each organisation to help further the reach of ISPA through the Cosmoprof Worldwide network on a global basis.
ISPA is recognised worldwide as the leading professional organisation and voice of the spa industry that provides invaluable educational and networking opportunities, promotes the value of the spa experience and speaks as the authoritative voice to foster professionalism and growth.
Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna will host a spa symposium in collaboration with ISPA; a two day conference on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18, followed by other initiatives designed to support the global spa community.
“ISPA is world known for its outstanding education and member roster base involving leading key decision makers in the spa community,” says Enrico Zannini, Director of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna.
“We are pleased to begin our initial collaboration starting with the upcoming Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2017 edition whereby ISPA will collaborate for a two-day spa symposium and then continuing to evolve the collaboration into more ways that can be meaningful to the spa industry at a global level.”
Says ISPA Chairman Todd Shaw: “Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna is the premier event for the global beauty industry.
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with this prestigious group as we continue to provide education that supports ISPA’s global membership.”
Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna is the go-to event for the global beauty industry, thanks to credibility gained over 50 years.
It holds events around the world as part of an international network, providing companies with a global presence and expertise.
The 2016 edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna reported record numbers, with more than 200,000 visitors and 2,510 exhibitors, of which 73 percent came from abroad.
