One of the US’ leading skincare ranges Rodan + Fields has officially entered the teen market for the first time, with the launch of their new SPOTLESS range.
SPOTLESS is a patent-pending teen and young adult acne solution, BPO2 Technology that leverages Benzoyl Peroxide in a groundbreaking new way, with the brand’s uniquely developed, innovative liquid form of Benzoyl Peroxide – an industry first – to get through the skin’s stubborn biofilms, helping to bring the microbiome inside the pores back to balance and effectively combat the entire acne cycle.
Stanford-trained dermatologists and brand founders Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields developed the new range in order to meet the needs of 85% percent of teens and young adults in the US – making it the country’s #1 skin condition.
“As practicing dermatologists, product developers and women, we understand the emotional, physical and scientific aspects of acne,” said Dr. Katie Rodan, Co-Founder of Rodan + Fields. “Working side-by-side with our team of scientists and innovators we’ve pioneered many skincare firsts, and we’re thrilled to have discovered a game-changing way to treat acne for teens,” said Dr. Kathy Fields, Co-Founder of Rodan + Fields.
In a further effort to stamp out acne and the severe mental and physical impact it has on many sufferers, the brand has also updated its UNBLEMISH Regimen, which is designed to address adult acne (as well as ageing) with new formulas that feature Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid.
“With our Founders’ unique perspective and expertise, we believe these formulas will be a breakthrough in the category and give the overwhelming majority of consumers who experience acne an easy, at-home solution,” said Diane Dietz, President and CEO of Rodan + Fields. “We are just scratching the surface of the $124B global skincare category and launching SPOTLESS provides a significant opportunity to reach a new set of customers.”
Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields launched Rodan + Fields in 2002. Many may recognise them as the creators of 3-step acne system Proactiv over two decades ago, before selling the company in order to focus their attention on their new anti-ageing line, Rodan + Fields. This latest brand move is being seen by most as ‘coming full circle’ for Rodan and Fields. It took some time for the brand to find its feet and establish a successful business model, including department stores, spending a short stint from 2003 with Estee Lauder only to be bought back by the ladies in 2007. Both Rodan and Fields now teach at Stanford Medical School and practice dermatology two days a week, and their brand has grown into a empire of 300,000+ independent skin consultants across the U.S., Canada and Australia.
Both regimens will be available as full sets from February 22nd.
