Dr Steven Liew’s Aesthetics 2022 Impresses With Sold Out Conference

Is this the most ‘fun’ conference of the year?

Last week, one of the most anticipated conferences of the year, Aesthetics 2022, took place in Sydney and impressed with three days of ‘edutainment’, as founder Dr Steven Liew likes to call it.

Dr Liew likes to do things a bit differently, keeping the program for this year’s conference under wraps for starters, bringing a certain element of curiosity and surprise to the event, which at times also resembled a scene of a night club, with loud party music blasting through the exhibitor space whenever it was time for everyone to head back inside the theatre. Presentations were kept to seven minutes each, with lots of live injecting taking place behind the stage, filmed and projected onto gigantic screens for everyone to see.

Short presentations meant the list of speakers was long and included impressive names, such as Stefania Roberts, Tapan Patel, Phillip Bekhor, Simone Doreian, Dalvi Humzah, Patrick Treacy, and more. Topics covered mainly surrounded injecting techniques, but also branched out to other aesthetic treatments, such as Tixl, BTL EmSculpt, WiQo ONE, Morpehus8, and more.

Another difference to a lot of other conferences was the ‘Let’s go shopping’ section, where brands and their KOLs were put on the spot by Dr Liew and other panellists and asked somewhat controversial questions around a device’s efficacy and ROI. It was refreshing to find genuine debate and differing opinions.

The social event on Saturday night resembled a fun-filled party with flying food and a DJ rather than a sit-down Gala dinner, and the fact that over 600 delegates showed up to Aesthetics 2022 makes us think Dr Liew will need a bigger event space next year. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with for Aesthetics 2023.
