The Dermapen Tattoff removes tattoos as if like magic, but there’s no laser involved. It’s a new method entirely.

After a light abrasion of the skin (similar to micro-needling) a special fluid is injected into the tattoo pigment, that works to breaks down the ink, forming a scab. When the scab falls away, the pigment comes with it, leaving clear, pink skin.

This removal method works on nearly all types of inked skin, regardless of size; on permanent makeup and on all colours.

It starts with a short consultation so the clinician can analyse skin type (using the Fitzparick Scale) and offending ink.

Total removal of pigment requires about 4-5 sessions, that take up to an hour. An 8-week waiting period between treatments is essential as the new “baby skin” takes time to heal.

It begins with the pen making small circles over the tattoo surface. The gaps between each circle will be blitzed in subsequent sessions. This “spacing” strategy minimises the chance of scarring.

If the client has a low pain tolerance, the technician can administer a local anaesthetic to minimise the discomfort, but it is usually not necessary as aficionados champion the method for being virtually painless.

The device is available to medi-clinics, cosmetic salons and spas that have been authorised to perform the treatment with staff  who are certified in the correct application.
