Think sandy nudes, sage green and warm terracotta shades for this coastal spa.
BODHI Wellness Spa Retreat opened its fifth location last week, coinciding with the recent rebranding of the spa group. Located in the coastal suburb of Cottesloe in Western Australia, the spa has an interior to match, sporting natural tones and sage and terracotta accents.
Danny Taylor, one half of the husband and wife duo that owns BODHI spas, says they had to go for it when the opportunity opened up in Cottesloe.
“Given the high demand for BODHI appointments at our four other spas at Westin Perth, Highgate, Wembley and down at Injidup (near Yallingup), Tania and I decided to go for it – at a time when many businesses were pulling back,” Danny said.
Each spa location has its own personality and for BODHI Cottesloe, that is a luxe Australian coastal vibe. Tania worked on the interiors for the other locations having a natural flair for design. This time she teamed up with WA-based interior stylist Lisa Quinn Schofield for the Cottesloe one. From the pictures, you can almost feel the relief that comes from stepping into the cool spa after being under the hot Perth sun.
When it comes to the treatment menu, the new location has a few firsts. The BODHI Cottesloe offers LED facials along with a capsule treatment menu for men, BODHI Man. The menu caters for its male guests and their unique skin and wellness concerns.
It was the increased growth of male clients that motivated the spa’s rebranding, Danny says.
“After thirteen years, we decided it was time to evolve the brand – it’s now become grown-up! We wanted it to speak more of our 100 per cent natural beauty and wellness offering, and move with the times. And seeing a growth in our male customer base, we also wanted BODHI to have a more unisex and classic appeal for the comfort of all guests,” he said.
Tania says the spa’s rituals embrace mind, body and spirit, rather than merely the skin. One of their most popular treatments is the Chakra Balance, which works with the energetic and physical body.
“I believe people are looking for a deeper sense of connection, nurturing and wellbeing that goes more than skin deep, especially in current times,” Tania said.
Thankfully, you don’t have to be a Perth resident to experience a BOHDI spa, at least not for very long.
“BODHI is currently talking to a hotel group on the east coast to open a spa in the next 6-9 months, and there are a couple of other WA wellness destination projects in the pipeline. Our natural, all Australian spa offering, as well as our depth of wellbeing treatments, seems to resonate with the WA market and we are keen to extend this nationally,” Tania adds.
