It feels difficult to describe what Le Petit Saint is, as it’s unlike anything I have seen before in the beauty and aesthetics industry. It could be described as a skincare boutique, a spa, a beauty destination, and even art gallery wouldn’t be far fetched. So when I meet Dr Joseph Hkeik, the Founder of Le Petit Saint, I am intrigued to hear it in his own words.
“This has been my dream since before I opened All Saints,” he says to me.
“For years I have wanted to create a space solely dedicated to connecting with my clients on a higher level – spiritually and emotionally. A place free from the constraints of everyday day life, where I can guide them to a place within themselves to allow them to see the inner and external beauty that I see.”
Located just across the road from his well-known skin clinic All Saints in Double Bay, Le Petit Saint is less hidden and discreet, but not any less exclusive and special. The first thing that hits you is the incredible interior, designed by Dr. Hkeik and renowned interior designer Blainey North. External statement windows act as art installations to showcase the works of a variety of artists and give the gift of art back to the local community.
“I wanted a space with natural light so I could work with artists and showcase beautiful art,” Hkeik tells me with a beaming smile on his face.
But of course, at the heart of Le Petit Saint is its team of dermal therapists and range of premium skincare. Aspect Sun, Augustinus Bader, BioEffect, Colorescience, Healthy Chef, iS Clinical, Oxygenetix, Skinceuticals, Truth Origins and UniverSkin are part of the skincare arsenal and displayed beautifully throughout the atelier as if they were pieces of art themselves.
All clients visiting the atelier will undergo a complimentary Skinscope diagnosis designed to study pigmentation, UV spots, texture and signs of ageing. Clients will receive a personalised plan of high-performance, results-driven skincare products tailored to their individual needs, supplemented with a tailored treatment programme to boost its effects. Supplement drinks that are beneficial for our gut health and therefore, our skin, are served from the elixir bar, so chic, you’d expect nothing less than French champagne and caviar.
Express treatments are available as well, performed in a luxurious back space featuring white leather armchairs, terracotta walls and gold finishes. Le Petit Saint acts like a gateway to beauty; the start of someone’s skin journey with the option of moving to nearby All Saints for further treatments.
Dr Hkeik wants people to find the best versions of themselves at Le Petit Saint, he tells me, and most of all, he wants it to be a place for community, to recreate the joyous feeling he felt when he was a child accompanying his mother to the beauty salon. “Everyone was in a good mood,” he says.
A sanctuary like no-other, the atelier not only delights the eye but uplifts the soul, offering clients an escape from the pace of the outside world life by transporting them into a fantastical realm and dreamscape that encompasses beauty, art, design, style and pleasure. A space where they feel safe, secure, confident, free, joyous and at one with themselves. Creativity and celebrating the beauty of every individual is at the heart of Le Petit Saint, and we can’t wait to go back.
