5 Unique Ideas For Mother’s Day

In traditional fashion, the year has flown by even faster than the last, and we are nearly at the halfway mark (slow deep breaths!) But before we get there, we have another event to celebrate – Mother’s Day.

With less than three weeks to go (Mother’s Day is on May 13 this year), you should already be thinking about specials for the occasion. If you’d like to offer something a little more exciting than the usual mother-daughter massage or facial, here are some unique options to mix things up.

Custom Packages
Ensure to create some special edition packages for the day that aren’t usually on the menu. Clients love anything new or limited edition, and they will be more enticed to treat mum to something she wouldn’t be able to receive on just any other day. Another option is a ‘select your own’ package for a set price, allowing mum and daughter to choose from a range of options on the day. This will also give clients a lot more freedom if purchasing gift vouchers in advance. Be sure to offer something for the young mums and their little ones too, like a mini manicure or express facial.

Add A Gift
This will add a lovely touch for daughters purchasing packages for their mums, particularly as a gift voucher. Throw in a ‘free gift’ for mum with any treatment – you could either select a set item, or offer a selection for mums to choose one from on the day.

Open Up Couples Packages
Although your couples packages may usually be designed for romance, why not open them up for Mother’s Day? We guarantee any treatments involving champagne and chocolates will be loved by mothers and daughters just as much as couples!

High Tea
You don’t need to be a five star hotel to provide a high tea! If you have an appropriate waiting room or lounge area, utilise it to provide the ultimate pamper package with a mother-daughter high tea package. This could be offered as an add-on to any Mother’s Day treatment, all you need to do is invest in some delightful nibbles, bubbles and selection of teas, and voila.

Two For One
In most cases, chances are you won’t find both mother and daughter on your client list, so you could consider offering a two-for-one Mother’s Day special. Any daughter that is currently visiting you on a regular basis will see exceptional value in this – basically offering a Mother’s Day pamper gift for free, as she would have purchased for herself regardless. Use this as an opportunity to build rapport with these clients and at the same time, (hopefully!) convert their mums to becoming regulars too.
