All the highlights from the Non-Surgical Symposium 2.0 Reimagined.

The Non-Surgical Symposium 2.0 Reimagined took place over the weekend, bringing you the latest innovation from the aesthetics industry. Virtual attendees from across 18 countries had a front-row seat to panel discussions, talks and presentations from 45 top industry speakers, thanks to a custom built streaming platform for the event.

Saturday kicked off with a welcome from MC Andrew Klein and NSS Scientific Convenor and ASAPS past president, Dr Naveen Somia. Guests could then choose from two streams of content and easily alternate between them if something took their fancy on the other stream. Dr Naveen says early feedback for the virtual event has been positive with many noting the outstanding experience.

“ASAPS were proud to present the NSS Reimagined virtual conference on the weekend where over 500 delegates and sponsors from the NSS community joined online to share their thoughts and approach to all things non-surgical,” Dr Naveen said.

“We had a number of international experts present from their respective countries, which is always well received, but we were thrilled with the homegrown talent who rose to the occasion to present on the virtual stage We have exceptional practitioners in Australia and we continue to raise the bar of patient safety in our region,” he adds.

There was a virtual exhibition hall where attendees could peruse the stands, as they would at a physical symposium, and talk to the experts behind the brands. Many familiar faces made an appearance including Terri Vinson and Chiza Westcarr. Both spoke during a session on whether improving gut health would improve in-clinic results, offering insight on things like “should you introduce a ‘gut questionnaire’ into your consultations’. The day one sessions also included:

• The future of aesthetics
• Master the periodical area
• Cutting edge body sculpting & intimate rejuvenation
• Filler complications
• advanced uses for injectables
• Injecting
• Master the lips, lower face and submentum

There were polling questions which ran during each session and uncovered interesting data on the industry. These polls found information like; Instagram was the most preferred social media platform by 54 per cent and the most satisfied laser patients are those who have their blood vessels and redness treated (64 per cent).

A virtual networking event rounded out the first day and served as an opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues. Early-bird registrants received a hamper packed with some goodies to sip and snack on during the networking session. It was these small touches which made the event feel seamless and almost normal (which this year has been far from). Day two continued the education streams with sessions like Laser and IPL – add glow to your practice and Body Sculpt, The New Frontier. The day two sessions also included:

• Master the lips
• Successful treatment of the asian face and nose
• Filler complications
• Latest advances in acne, skin of colour and hair restoration
• Threads – new techniques and technologies
• The face

If you did happen to miss some of the action, NSS 2.0 Reimagined will be available on-demand for the next six months, so you can go back and watch all your favourite bits and become inspired all over again.

The Non-Surgical Symposium will return next year. It will be a hybrid event held on 11-13 June 2021 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
